Responsibilities

How will you make an impact?  

The Commodity Manager is responsible for leading assigned supply chain management initiatives within the Purchasing group. Main responsibilities: research, source goods and services, negotiate pricing and lead time with suppliers, coordinate with internal customers to determine requirements, issue Requests For Proposal (RFPs), assess viability of supplier proposals, and monitor contractual entitlements and obligations.

Additional responsibilities:  Develop purchasing strategies with associated risk assessments and present to senior management.  Assess Supplier performance, maintain beneficial commercial relationships with assigned suppliers, develop and implement procedures consistent with contractual obligations, and negotiate resolution of commercial issues, claims, or disputes. Perform all required functions to deliver measurable and tangible results.  Negotiate terms consistent with approved parameters.  Responsible for handling, processing, and protecting confidential data while representing the company and department in a professional, ethical manner.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or other related field
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel to be confirmed through a skills assessment
  • Advanced experience using MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with analytics and business intelligence tools such as Cognos
  • Experience with problem solving, forecasting, and advanced financial analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Possess effective communication skills both orally and in writing; able to successfully present complex topics to senior management
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Ability to travel occasionally

Position Preferences:

  • Experience with aircraft components and powerplant
  • Previous experience with component reliability analysis
  • Previous experience with PMA (Parts Manufacturer Authority) parts
  • Experience with contracts and other legal documents
  • Previous negotiating experience highly preferred
