Responsibilities 

  • Manager leads and coordinates the day-to-day operations in the planning and execution of aircraft maintenance for LIT.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to their team
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining high safety standards in accordance with Company policies and procedures as well as ensuring all maintenance base activities are accomplished in accordance with Federal Air Regulations (FARs), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance programs and other governmental regulations and/or Company policies and procedures
  • Reviews and analyzes reports of daily, weekly and monthly performance indicators to ensure the base is meeting critical performance targets
  • Reviews operating results and compares against established objectives; takes appropriate action to correct unsatisfactory results
  • Identifies and quickly resolves or facilitates the resolution of personnel or process problems affecting performance
  • Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures that meet aircraft maintenance and/or Company goals and objectives
  • Must ensure qualified personnel are available and assigned to achieve the desired end product considering airworthiness, aircraft availability and economics
  • Confer with supervisors to obtain data required for planning departmental activities such as new commitments, status of work in progress and problems encountered 
  • Gives work directions, resolves problems, and sets deadlines for timely completion of work. Assigns, or delegates responsibility for, specified work and disseminates policy to supervisors 
  • Ensure maintenance operations are in compliance with local, state and federal laws and that personnel are in compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and any Company or government regulations
  • Prepare reports and records on department activities for upper management 
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Identifies training and development needs for personnel; provide appropriate training as needed. Manage resources and budgets to meet operational financial goals. 
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills are necessary as well as being able to effectively and efficiently manage competing priorities
  • Ability to think strategically and adapt to the changing needs of the business are critical
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and the ability to prioritize work and projects in order to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

 

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • College degree or equivalent amount of work experience in aircraft maintenance
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Valid FAA A&P license
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Aircraft Maintenance as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor/Manager at a line and/or base maintenance facility
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ management-level experience in a union environment
  • Working knowledge of FARs
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends, when applicable
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Some travel required
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Successful track record and experience with process improvement in maintenance and/or production environments, preferred
  • Working knowledge creating and maintaining departmental budgets, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Transport Workers Union (TWU) collective bargaining agreement, preferred
